SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)

Robbers struck three separate banks in San Francisco on Friday and Saturday, according to police.

The first robbery happened just before 7 p.m. Friday at a bank in the 800 block of La Playa Street in San Francisco's Outer Richmond neighborhood, police said. A Wells Fargo bank is listed at that address.

A man entered the bank, gave a demand note to a teller, and opened his jacket to display a gun, according to police.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect, who then fled.

Police said the suspect was described as an Asian man between 30 and 35 years old who is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs roughly 130 pounds. He was wearing a coat, blue button-up shirt, khaki pants and blue baseball hat with purple writing at the time of the robbery, according to San Francisco police Officer Albie Esparza.

Police said another robbery was reported around 11:30 a.m. Saturday at a bank in the 1800 block of Van Ness Avenue, where a Citibank is located.

In that robbery, the suspect also entered the bank and handed a bank employee a demand note. The bank worker handed over cash and the suspect ran from the scene.

That robber was described as a white man between 25 and 30 years old standing about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 125 pounds. He was said to be wearing a white shirt, black glasses and a fake brown mustache, Esparza said.

A second bank was robbed on Saturday around 5:35 p.m. in the 3600 block of Geary Boulevard, police said. A Wells Fargo bank is listed at that address.

Police said a suspect entered the bank, gave a note to a teller and simulated a handgun in his jacket pocket. The teller handed over cash and the suspect fled the scene.

The suspect was described as an Asian man between 30 and 35 years old who is roughly 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He was wearing a blue shirt, khaki pants and white tennis shoes with dark soles at the time of the crime.

Esparza said investigators are reviewing surveillance images from each bank and have not found anything to indicate that the three robberies are related.

No injuries were reported during the robberies, and no suspects have been arrested, according to police.
